Special Offerings

Alongside our core Birth Story Medicine training, we host a range of special courses that deepen, expand, and enrich your work with stories, symbols, and healing. Some of these offerings are designed for trained Birth Story Listeners, while others are suitable for anyone who serves families in the birth space, including midwives, doulas, therapists, educators, and healers.

Each course opens a doorway into a particular dimension of birth stories and the human experience.

Birth Story Sessions for
Fathers & Partners

Your Birth Story, In Your Words

Make an appointment for a private session just for you as a father or partner. You may have been seen primarily in a support role during labor. Rarely does anyone ask about your own journey. Sometimes it feels awkward to process your experience with your partner. The day your child is born can stir a range of emotions, leave vivid memories, and shift your relationship.

This session provides a space for the one who held the space. It offers a chance to share your birth experience in your own words and explore memories and feelings uniquely your own. You may not realize how much you need this session until after you've found new meaning, or until you are preparing to have another baby.

ALCHEMY OF BIRTH STORY WORK
for BIRTH STORY LISTENERS

Join Pam for a seven-week immersion into psychological and spiritual alchemy. Each week, we'll delve into one of the seven stages of alchemical transformation. Experience personal growth through ancient teachings and meditations, and learn how to incorporate the wisdom of alchemy into your teaching and sessions.

GROUP FOR PARENTS

Transform an Unwished-for Experience into Gold

This one-of-a-kind three-week journey welcomes parents who have given birth and want to feel differently about their birth experience.

Each week, you will enter your inner Birth Story Alchemy Laboratory to discover a new recipe in the ancient wisdom of alchemy. Vivid imagery and powerful metaphors will accelerate your inner work, ignite insights, and turn a medical story into meaning, even a mythic experience. The process of spiritual and psychological alchemy will transform what now feels like a heavy, leaden story into gold.

Trying to sort your birth experience out in your mind is like the old Zen saying, “It’s impossible to see your own eyeball.” Do-it-yourself birth story work is possible, but it often takes much longer to untangle a story.

WHEN CHILDBIRTH BECOMES A CONSCIOUS INITIATION . . .

Open to all: Parents and those who listen to birth stories.

We will take a journey through the landscape of the childbearing year, but see it through the lens of Initiation as an archetype.

Pausing to reflect on the phases, landmarks, our dreams and images, and the timely tasks of Initiation can do two things: one make the inner experience conscious and embodied, and second, turn a medical story into a mythic one.
